First
of all, I have been working as a researcher or project manager in almost 20
projects which are related to the systematics, ecology and vegetation of
bryophytes in Turkey, since 1993. In addition, we also used biomonitoring
mosses and lichens for the determination of atmospheric heavy metal pollutants
and making pollution maps especially in heavy industrial areas in Marmara
region and Western Black Sea region of Turkey. Finally we are working on
biological filter systems to remove dyestuffs and oils from waste water and also
work together with pharmacists and microbiologists in order to find out antimicrobial,
antifungal and antimutagenic substances in some widespread bryophytes.
