Computer technologies began to be used as a means of artistic expression in the 1960s. Today, many artists create artwork using computer technologies in a variety of ways. The aim of this research is to examine the contributions of developments in computer technologies to the field of contemporary arts. In the article, the development of computer technologies in the historical process was examined by literature review method in terms of its contribution to art studies. In this context, examples of the works of contemporary artists Camille Utterback, Daniel Canogar, Rafael Lozano-Hemmer and Daniel Rozin are included. In parallel with the developments in the field of art since the 1960s, computer technologies have enabled artists to present many different materials and media together in a wide variety of ways. Technological developments in the computer have started to be used by artists to produce moving, interactive and audience-sensitive art works. Thus, art works in which individual participation, which gains meaning with the presence of the audience, is observable and valuable, has begun to emerge. In this context, the role and effectiveness of the artist, the artwork and the audience in the process have started to diversify.
