Özet

The martyrdom lodges are one of the Bektashi lodges opened in Istanbul. This lodges were founded immediately after the conquest of the oldestly known Sheikh Ali Baba. Ali Baba who helped this place to remain for many years by establishing a foundation in the lodges. The foundation had the land of vineyards and woodland other than the lodges and plugins. The foundation was established to heredity, and the lodge in his son's foundation was asked to give authority to a person with Bektashi sect. Martyrdom lodge and Foundation continued its activities until 1826. Martyrdom lodge was razed together with the prohibition of Bektashism in 1826. At that time, the dervish sheikh Mahmoud Baba, along with seven dervishes, had been exiled. Mahmoud Baba was forgiven in 1932 and was allowed to return to Istanbul. Thus, the martyrdom lodges Mahmoud Baba's initiative were rebuilt. After Mahmoud Baba, during Nafi Baba who is the son of the son of Mahmoud Baba, the lodge lived its most active period. Then, the martyrdom lodges that were managed by Mahmud Bey Baba and Nuzhet Baba, remained open until 1925. In this study, the historical process of the martyrdom lodges and Sheikh Ali Baba's Foundation are examined.
