Explicit formula for positive integer powers of k-tridiagonal Toeplitz matrices

Abstract
© 2022, The Author(s) under exclusive licence to Korean Society for Informatics and Computational Applied Mathematics.As a generalization of the tridiagonal matrices, k-tridiagonal matrices have been attracted much attention in the last few years. In this paper, we present an explicit expression for the arbitrary positive integer powers of k-tridiagonal matrices with Toeplitz structure. Two numerical examples are given to demonstrate the validity of the proposed results.
