Özet

Regional costumes are one of the richest and splendid branches of national culture in Turkiye. In addition to fashion uniquely adapted internationally, the reference to regional costumes generally invoke also the notion of clothing deep rooted in history either in the museums or those worn on special occasions such as folkloric events. Dressing is a phenomenon which depicts an individual's social and economic status, age group, level of culture and personality. A society's geographical location, history and socioeconomic conditions directly impact the attire styles and clothing. These influences are seen to be most saturated in some regions. Woodsters (Tahtacilar) are a libertarian Aliwite sect Turkmen community resident in the Aegean and Mediterranean regions. Woodsters possess a cultural wealth reflected in their lively colored attires and clothing accessories decorated with various materials. In this study the traditional female clothing elements currently in use at the Kozluören Village have been identified. This region's traditional clothing is extremely interesting in terms of color coordination, aesthetics, dimensionality, practicality, comfort and functional utility. The female attires of this geography fundamentally consist of elements locally referred to as deyre(deyre), koenchek(kö nçük), goeynek(göynek), oenluek(önlük), waist band and ornamented headwear.
