The subject of this study is “Islamization efforts of science or knowledge” produced
within the framework of the effort to get rid of the scientific domination of the West.
In this context, it inherits previous efforts historically, but from time to time criticizes
and tries to overcome them. This historical inheritance has been influenced by the prowestern
efforts it produced against the Eurocentric discourse of the East, which was
regressed against the industrialization and modernization of Europe and imperialism
and colonial politics, and the orientalist discourse based on the thesis of Europe’s
scientific, mental and even racial superiority; it also interacted with post-modern and
post-colonial thought and arguments as context and climate. However, it can be said
that this project is neither post-modern nor post-colonial, on the contrary, it critically
mobilizes post-modern and post-colonial arguments and proposes its own specific
“Islamic” design. However, the project includes a complex and rich discussion with
different thinkers and perspectives that cannot be reduced to a single position. It has
comprehensive and diverse elements; It claims to offer a new perspective and model in
areas ranging from epistemology to politics, from economics to education. This study
focuses on solely the history narrative it proposes and, in this context, it deals with
the nature of the narrative proposed by different thinkers; by trying to make a general
and critical reading of this narrative. In this context, the study consists of three parts:
In the first part, basic concepts are explained; In the second part, the content of the
Islamization efforts of Science/Knowledge is analyzed with the main lines, and in the
third part, the historical narrative is unveiled. The study uses critical interpreting and
descriptive methods based on the literature review.
