Özet

This article was prepared using a descriptive bibliometric analysis method by examining a total of 88 postgraduate theses on Hazrat Ali, available in the National Thesis Center of the Council of Higher Education (YÖK), comprising 17 doctoral and 71 master’s theses. The data collection process was conducted between February 28 and March 15, 2025, using the “Advanced Search” method within the scope of the YÖK Thesis Center. Theses published in Turkish between 1990 and 2024 were scanned using keywords such as “Hz. Ali”, “Ali ibn Abi Talib”, etc. The collected data, based on the bibliometric analysis method, were examined using both quantitative and qualitative analysis techniques. Within the scope of quantitative analysis, the distribution of theses was determined by year, university, main academic discipline, advisor title, and author gender. The distribution of postgraduate theses at the master’s and doctoral levels was calculated proportionally and compared both longitudinally and cross-disciplinarily. Additionally, the most frequently used terms in the theses were identified through word cloud and word frequency analysis, and annual changes in the number of theses were examined using time series analysis. In the qualitative analysis, a thematic analysis was conducted based on thesis titles, and the main themes studied in relation to Hazrat Ali were classified. The absence of a direct bibliometric analysis study on postgraduate theses concerning Hazrat Ali in Türkiye renders this study significant and original. The aim of this research is to systematically present the scientific productivity and knowledge flow of postgraduate theses on Caliph Ali. Furthermore, it is intended to serve as a guide for future research by providing preliminary information and directing researchers toward new areas of study.
