Özet
Energy is considered one of the fundamental drivers of development, with electricity being the fastest-growing energy source globally. The scarcity of energy, rising demand, and depletion of conventional energy resources have pushed societies toward renewable energy alternatives. Wind energy, in particular, has garnered significant interest due to these pressures. However, the intermittent nature of wind speed, both spatially and temporally, necessitates accurate forecasting and planning of wind power generation. In the rapidly evolving energy markets, precise and timely predictions are becoming increasingly critical. This chapter presents a newly developed wind energy forecasting model that incorporates Markov process structure enhancing the effectiveness of current estimation methods used for wind energy production.
