Özet
This descriptive study, based on the survey model, aims to determine the opinions and practices of textile and ready-to-wear businesses in Denizli regarding the use of local specific wovens in clothing designs. The sample group (88 people) consisted of individuals actively involved in production and decision-making processes from 88 businesses randomly selected from the Honaz, Merkezefendi, Buldan and Sarayköy districts of Denizli. Within the scope of the research, a literature review was conducted on the history of weaving in Denizli, types of local specific wovens, and their use in clothing design. Based on this review, a measurement tool (survey) was developed to collect data and applied to the sample group. The three-part survey form included questions in the first section about the descriptive characteristics of the businesses and the sample group, in the second section about the awareness and usability levels of local specific wovens, and in the third section about opinions on the use of these wovens in clothing. The collected data were analyzed using the Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS) 26.0 program and presented in frequency tables, supported by the literature. Anova and Post Hoc tests were applied to compare the opinions and practices of the sample group. According to the analyses, it was found that the awareness of Buldan, Babadağ, Kızılcabölük,and Nikfer wovens was higher compared to other local specific wovens such as Sarayköy, Çameli, and Kabalar. In addition, although there are positive opinions that the use of these wovens adds value to products and clothing designs, it has been concluded that these opinions are not reflected particularly in the production of clothing designs.
