That Yoruks had a nomadic life on a narrow space and hed a half-settled life, led to partial degradation of the family size structure. Nevertheless, in this region it is possible to see large groups like Karaca Koyunlular, Çulluyan Yörüks and Karacas. With the effect of population growth, some of these groups spreaded to different sanjaks in western Anatolia. One of the groups found in different sanjaks of Western Anatolia is Söǧüt Yoruks. Söǧüt Yoruks can be seen in almost all of the towns in Hüdavendigar sanjak as well as in some towns of Biga, Karasi and Kocaeli sanjaks. Historical closeness of Söǧüt Yoruks can clearly be seen in law book in which explanations about legal statute and taxes of groups located in Hüdavendigar and Biga sanjaks are stated. Their historical relationship, legal statutes, the places they locate, their population and economic structure are the main concern of this study.
