Abstract

Abstract In the modern world, in scientific and methodological literature on the problems of teaching Russian as a foreign language, the prevailing point of view is the need to teach language not only as a new code and a new way of expressing thoughts, but also as studying a language in an inseparable unity with the culture of the people. To form communicative and cultural competence in Russian language classes at the preparatory department, we use paintings that help "immerse" students in the world depicted by the artist and interpret this world with their abilities and knowledge. The use of paintings as teaching material has become an effective motivating factor for the development of both oral and written speech, consolidation of previously studied thematic material, and enrichment of students' vocabulary. In working with paintings, educational work includes familiarization with national and cultural traditions during the introduction of new vocabulary and in the process of consolidating grammar. As students master the lexical topics of "Appearance", "Character", "Hobby", "Profession", we introduce into the educational process the works of Russian artists Zinaida Serebryakova "With a Candle", "Self-portrait with a Mirror"; Alexey Serov "Girl with Peaches"; Viktor Vasnetsov "Alyonushka". Landscape paintings such as "Golden Autumn" by Isaac Levitan, "Petersburg in Pictures" by Ivan Aivazovsky, "The Rooks Have Come Back" by Alexey Savrasov we offer when consolidating the lexical topic of "Seasons", "Holidays", "Weather", "Nature of Russia". Thanks to the works of Vasily Surikov "Morning of the Streltsy Execution", Konstantin Yuon "The Capture of the Kremlin in 1917 at the Manege" we discover many interesting aspects of the development of Moscow and allow us to study the historical period of Russia's development with great accuracy. Works of art by Russian artists immerse students in the history and culture of the Russian people; form students' own need for creativity; motivate them to research and create scenarios, stories based on the reproduction of the painting; invent episodes preceding the depicted moment; activate communicative activity; play the roles of its characters and express their own opinions.
