Özet

People belonging to the Ersar tribe of Turkmenistan live in the North of Afghanistan. Ersaris have the biggest population of all Afganistan Turkmens. Ersari dialect differs from the standard Turkmen Turkish in terms of various pronunciation features and some ways of producing sounds. In Ersari dialect, there are eight short and eight long vowels. The vowels can change the meanings of words. Ersari dialect also has subordinate long vowels as standard Turkmen Turkish does. Turkmens have been affected by Uzbeks' language, they used to live together with and as well as by Darice. This effect is notably felt in the production of vowels and consonants. The number of vowels and consonants of Ersari dialect is more than that of standard Turkmen Turkish and also there are remarkable differences in terms of pronunciation of the words having the same meanings.
