Özet

Kirghiz Turks have prosperous oral tradition. The epics take great place in this tradition. Manas epic which is one of the longest epic of the world is very important for Kirghiz Turks. Therefore, performing this epic is accepted as a profession. The epic is mostly performed by mencalled Manasians. But sometimes women tried to be Manasians too though it was not easy for them.
