Abstract

n Part 2 of this study, the entari is studied and evaluated in terms of type, style, form, tailoring, usage, and aesthetic properties, identifying twenty distinct forms of entari. The endurance of traditional values, the rules governing the dress style, the use of valuable fabrics which themselves were woven with difficulty on hand-operated looms were all important factors in establishing forms of clothing and in ensuring adherence to the traditional manner of dress up until the late Ottoman period.
